The FIRO-B® (Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation-Behavior™) instrument is a powerful tool that assesses how someone's personal needs affect the employee's behavior towards other people. The theory behind the FIRO-B® instrument is based on the assumption that all human interaction may be divided into three categories: issues surrounding inclusion, issues surrounding control, and issues surrounding affection.
Each item is measured in two dimensions:
the expressed behavior of the employee, and the behavior they want from
others. The FIRO-B® instrument can provide insight into the employee's compatibility with
other people, as well as their individual characteristics. The FIRO-B®
instrument can be
used in any situation requiring interpersonal behavior measurement,
including management development, team building, and employee development.
The assessment contains 54 items and takes approximately 15 minutes to

Interpretive Report for Organizations: Provides a thirteen
page narrative report for improving behavior in a business setting.
The report supplies a list of the employee's pattern of need fulfillment in
the areas of inclusion, control and affection to target areas of
development, and provides team role and effectiveness information with
suggested guidelines for improvement.

FIROB Interpretive Report for Organizations
The Leadership Report begins with a snapshot of the employee's leadership style. The report offers a brief interpretive overview of the FIRO-B®and MBTI®. The employee's leadership style is described in the contexts of interpersonal relationships, teams, and organizational culture, and identifies strengths and challenges faced when dealing with change and stress. An Action Plan offers suggestions for personal development and resources to explore leadership style.
